About Vels Institute of Science, Technology & Advanced Studies Chennai

University status was granted to the Vels group of institutions, by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Gov. from India. As a logical consequence of this, the founding president, Dr. Ishari K.Ganesh became President/Chancellor and now leads the implementation of the strategic plan which aims to shape the future growth of the institute. Residential Accommodation

Our  Campus hostel is a comfortable and affordable home with spacious rooms and air-conditioned rooms available on request. The use of free WiFi structure of the library is available for hostel students from 8:00  to 20:00.A fully qualified medical assistant is available on the medical campus and hospital facilities. near the campus, at the expense of which would be paid by the Mess students and canteen installation is available at reasonable rates, linen is available for paid students. Excellent indoor and outdoor play facilities are available, a well-equipped gymnasium is available for students. There are separate hostels for boys and girls.

Library

VISTAS Library building spans over an area of 20,000 sq. ft.it has a  capacity of 500 people and follows an open access system combined with state-of-the-art facilities. The library houses a collection of 130,236 books, 165,060 e-books, 12,660 back issues, 4,539 memoirs, and 5,254 audio-visual resources. The Library subscribes to more than 374 periodicals (national and international) and 12,535 electronic journals. To facilitate quality teaching & research, digital library access to electronic information services to ensure that the information needs of our students and faculty are met. Staff and students can access the e-Journal and e-Book from EBSCO, ProQuest, JGate, IEEE/IEL, ASME, NPTEL, Micromedex's Drugdex Systems, Bentham Science Pharmacy, InventiOnline, Nature, Law Finder, AIR Comprehensive, SCC Online, Digimat Digital Library, Vels Library Subject Gateway Digital Portal et eBook di eBrary ProQuest Academic Complete.

Auditorium

"Shivalayaa" is a fully air-conditioned auditorium with a capacity of 1500 seats built with the aim of organizing various school, extracurricular and cultural activities such as seminars, conferences, and inter-university cultural festivals. It is one of the largest auditoriums in this part of Chennai which offers opportunities for students to showcase their innate talents during their studies.
