Yogada Satsang Mahavidyalay was established in Ranchi, the capital city of Jharkhand in the year of 1967. The institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in arts, commerce, sciences, and computer fields. College offers BA, BA Hons, B.Sc, B.Sc Hons, B.Com, B.Com Hons, and BCA at the UG level in different streams. While at the PG level, it offers an M.Com program. The college also offers 10+2 in science, commerce, and arts.

Yogada Satsang Mahavidyalay, Ranchi is approved by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and affiliated to Ranchi University.

Courses Offered

Yogada Satsang Mahavidyalay, Ranchi courses are offered at various levels like Undergraduate Degrees i.e Bachelor of Arts (BA) Sanskrit, BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration), Bachelor of Arts Honours (BA Hons.) Political Science, Bachelor of Science Honours (B.Sc. Hons.) Zoology, Bachelor of Science Honours (B.Sc. Hons.) Facilities and Infrastructure

Library:

The main library of the college is well stocked with textbooks, reference books, motivational books, spiritual books, magazines, and journals, which are arranged on separate shelves and almirahs, to facilitate easy access. The library has three reading rooms with a seating capacity of over 130. We have an open reading arena of 5760 sq. ft. with 08 huts like shaded structures with a seating capacity of over 70 students. This enables the library to accommodate over 200 students at a time.

Laboratories:

This Mahavidyalaya is basically an undergraduate college so there is no high-quality research laboratory but still, most of the faculties are actively involved in research activities by participating/presenting/ in National/International conferences. The faculty members keep guiding research scholars and are thus actively involved in research activities.

Cafeteria:

spacious and separate hygienic canteen cum-recreational center. The college has a spacious and hygienic canteen for students and staff built with a carpet area of 1658.28 square ft.

Medical/Hospital:

The Mahavidyalaya has a health care unit with qualified medical professionals for the health counseling of students. The same unit has been equipped with dispensary facilities so that proper primary medical facilities are provided to our students.

Gym:

The gymnasium facilities are provided in the boys‘ common room. whereas gymnasium facilities are provided in the boys‘ common room. Both of these common rooms have recreational facilities.

Sports:

The college has a big playground that serves the need of organizing sports tournaments such as football, and cricket and helps us organize different track and field events. The ground is also used by the NCC unit of the Mahavidyalaya for its ground practices. This is over 93,000 sq. ft. in area.

Alumni Associations:

The alumni association of the college and interactions with the parents of students, particularly of the weak and irregular ones. The college hitherto had no alumni association. As for the need, alumni were contacted to seek advice on syllabus content, industry requirements, getting books to the library, etc. Now, this informal alumni association is being formalized, and it has 126 members at present. The association will be registered in due course of time.

Scholarship

Paramhansa Yogananda Scholarship @ Rs 8000 in memory of Sri Rajesh and Santosh Kapoor to one first-year student of BBA/BCA/IT and continue to get till the course is over.

Admission

Admissions are done on the basis of admission rules framed by the college and on the basis of the merit of the students. A candidate applying for UG programs like BA, or B.Sc should have a minimum of 45% marks as aggregate. For BBA and B.Com, candidates must have a Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) qualified from a recognized board of education and mathematics should be a compulsory subject. Students must have completed graduation in commerce for admission to M.Com.
