If you've decided to sit for the XAT exam, you need to be aware of eligibility conditions. Therefore, we'll explain the XAT eligibility criteria for 2023 and related details.

XAT 2023

XLRI Jamshedpur conducts XAT for admission to various management courses in the most reputable B-schools in the nation. It is a computer-based exam that has more than 90,000 applicants who take it every year. The test is usually scheduled in January. The exam is considered to be the second most important MBA entrance test, XAT offers tough competition for the best brains in the nation.

XAT Eligibility Criteria 2023: General Requirements

Students of all backgrounds are able to take the XAT test. But, you must meet specific criteria to be able to take the test. These are the guidelines according to XAT the eligibility for 2023.

Nationality Criteria

* It is possible to apply for Indian candidate, NRIs, and foreigners are eligible to take the test.

* NRI or foreign applicants are also eligible to apply to GMAT on the basis of their GMAT scores (except Dubai and Kathmandu candidates which offer the possibility of directly applying for XAT).

Academic Qualifications

Candidates must have an undergraduate degree of minimum of three years' duration or equivalent from an accredited authority in any field.

Students in the final year are qualified to take the test.

Candidates who graduated in the 1980s with a two-year bachelor's degree is not qualified.

There is no minimum aggregate mark requirement for being in XAT 2023.

Candidates who have a PG degree are required to include their PG percentage on the application form , not the graduation percentage.

Candidate must get rid of all backlogs prior to admission via XAT.

Age Limits

There is no upper nor lower age limit for XAT 2023.

No. of attempted attempts

There is no limit to the number of attempts you can make for XAT.

XLRI Programme-wise Criteria

In addition to the general eligibility guidelines Institutes that accept XAT have program-specific guidelines. If you are planning you apply to XAT 2023, determine the eligibility requirements for specific institutes as well as the eligibility requirements for their programmes. Below, we provide an overview of qualifications, according to the programs that are offered by XLRI:

Human Resource Management

A minimum of three years of a bachelor's degree earned from a recognized institution.

NRI and foreign applicants can apply via GMAT/XAT.

Students who are in the final year of exam can apply for admission if their result is announced by June 10, 2023.

Business Management

A bachelor's degree with a 3 year duration in any field.

NRI as well as foreign candidates are able to apply via GMAT/XAT.

Students who are in the final year of their graduation may apply, however the results must be announced on or before June 10, 2023.

General Management programs (PGDM)

Bachelor's degree earned from an accredited Indian or foreign university that has three years of study.

Managerial/supervisory experience of 5 years of experience by March 31, 2023.

The score of XAT/GMAT/GRE will be taken into consideration. (GMAT/GRE test must be cleared between the 1st of December 2017 and December 31st 2022.)

Fellow Programmed in Management (FPM)

Candidates can apply for the program on the basis of one of three routes.
1.) XAT 2023
2.) UGC-JRF/NET; GMAT/GRE/GATE 2022-23
3.) Two years full-time MBA or equivalent in PGDM/ XLRI or at least one from the IIMs, MDI Gurgaon, FMS Delhi, XIM Bhubaneswar, SP Jain, IRMA, School of Management of an IIT, TISS or ISI with a CQPI of minimum of 6.00/8.00or equivalent. Furthermore they need to have one of the following:

BE/ B.Tech. degree or equivalent with at 60 percent marks (50 percent to SC and ST) and at least 2 years of relevant experience.

or

A Bachelor's or equivalent degree with a minimum of three years duration and a minimum of 60% mark (50 percent for those with disabilities) and post-graduation (MBA/Master's qualification in any field) from an approved university or higher learning center in India or abroad with at least 55 percent marks (50 percentage for those with disabilities).

or

A Master's degree that is integrated (in all disciplines) with a minimum of four or five years with a minimum of 55 percentage marks (50 percent for SC/ST) earned after having completed the 10+2 exam or another equivalent.

or

Professional certifications such as CA or ICWA or CS, with at least 55% score (50 percent to be SC/ST).

Executive Fellow Programmed in Management (EXEC-FPM)

MBAor equivalent PGDM/ MBA or GMP/PGPX, or One-Year full-time residential course for Management (with at minimum 60 percent marks).

Currently working in a full-time job and holds a minimum of 5 years of full-time managerial/ executive/research/teaching experience as on March 31, 2023.

Admission to this class does not need scores on XAT.

Note: There aren't reservations based on caste in XAT. However it is possible that the XAT associate institutes as well as other B-schools might have their own reservations policies for admissions.
