GATE 2025 Application: Required Documents, Specifications, and Key Details

The GATE 2025 Application form opened on the GOAPS portal on 28th August, 2024. Candidates must hold the necessary documents during the registration for the GATE exam 2025. GATE 2025 exam students will be welcomed in the elite institutes of the country including IITs, NITs, IIITs, and IISc for M.Tech and PhD courses. 

Documents Required for GATE 2025 Registration

The conducting authorities of GATE have issued a list of documents, which will be uploaded along with the application. The format would be specific. Here is the list of documents to help you fill out the of GATE application form.

1. Address of Communication (with PIN Code)
2. PCT details
3. Name and Address of College with PIN Code
4. Desirable GATE test paper
5. Desirable GATE exam cities
6. High-resolution image of candidate photograph as per specifications
7. Clear image of candidate's signature as per requirement
8. Scanned copy of photo identity issued by the authority having name and another identification as permissible under the rules of Govt. of India. The same Identity proof is to be carried to the examination centre.
9. Scan copy of PwD certificate, if applicable in PDF
10. Scan copy of category certificate, if applicable in PDF
11. Scan copy of dyslexic certificate, if applicable in PDF
12. All net banking/credit card/debit card/UPI details for payment

GATE 2025 Photograph and Signature Requirements

The candidate's photograph and signature have to be scanned for uploading into the GOAPS for the GATE 2025 registration form. Specifications:

Photograph requirements

1. The photograph must be of good quality and a recent one. 
2. The dimensions of the passport-size photo must be (3.5 cm width X 4.5 cm height) with the face of the candidate covering 60 to 70% of the photograph. 
3. The photograph's background must be white and contain no objects or persons.
4. The photograph must directly show the frontal face view into the camera, the forehead, eyes, nose, and chin. 
5. The face should not be covered with caps, hats, sunglasses, or coloured glasses. 
6. The scanned photograph must be in JPEG or JPG format with a minimum aspect ratio of 0.66; maximum aspect ratio =0.89
7. The maximum pixel resolution must be 530 x 690 pixels, and the minimum resolution is 200 X 260 pixels.
8. The file size must be between 5kb to 1 MB.

GATE 2025 Signature Specifications

1. Candidate signature with clear JPEG/JPG format with aspect ratio, height: width =1.0 wherein value of A can vary from 3.25 to 3.75 The candidate's signature should occupy 70 to 80% of the image with only black or dark blue ink.
2. The file size of the candidate's signature is between 5 kb to 200 kb.
3. The size of the image within the signature should be 160 x 560 pixels at maximum, and 80 x 280 pixels at minimum size.

The last date for submission of the application form for GATE 2025 is September 26, 2024 without late fees and on 7 Oct 2024 with INR 500/-. GATE Exam 2025 will be held on Feb 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025.
