Introduction of Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Solid State Materials

M.tech in Solid State Technology is a postgraduate programme. The study of solid matter is solid-state physics. Crystal structures, nanostructures, wave diffraction, and quantum phonons are some of the subjects covered in this field of physics, which are usually provided as part of a graduate degree programme. The study of matter in its solid state is part of the Course. Biology, medicine, biochemistry, and biotechnology are all closely tied to solid-state physics. Eligibility Criteria of M.Tech in Solid State Materials

For applying for the Course, the candidate must have completed a B.E./B.Tech. or degree which can be considered equivalent with a minimum of 50% to be considered for this Course. B.Tech. / M.Sc. or equivalent with a CGPA of 6.75 on a 10-point scale or 60% aggregate for General Category with (a) GATE score of 300 or qualifying score (b) GATE score of 200 or qualifying score whichever is higher for SC / ST / PD category Admission is also available to B.Tech. 
  • Graduates who have passed out from IITs and have a CGPA of 8.00 do not have a GATE score. AMIE / IETE Graduates are eligible.
  • For admission to some universities and institutions, it is necessary to take an entrance exam.
  • Direct Full-Time Admission:

B.Tech. / M.Sc. or equivalent with (a) CGPA of 8.5 or 75% in aggregate for General / OBC category, and CGPA of 7.5 or 70% in aggregate for SC / ST / PD category. For General / OBC, GATE Score > 300 or qualifying score whichever is higher, and for SC / ST / PD, GATE Score > 200 or qualifying score whichever is higher.
