The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has set the eligibility requirements for CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) 2025. Students must meet these criteria to qualify for the Judicial Entrance Examination. Requirements include education, age limits and minimum marks in both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes.
NLU Consortium has defined CLAT 2025 eligibility criteria for UG and PG programmes. CLAT 2025 Criteria are the conditions that candidates must fulfil before registering for the exam. Only those candidates who qualify for the CLAT exam will be considered for admission.
Candidates must have passed the 12th class from a recognized board or educational institution with at least 45% marks (40% for SC and ST students). Candidates appearing in the 12th grade exams in April-May 2025 can also participate in the exam. However, the admission of such students is subject to the fulfilment of the required qualification requirements.
Candidates who wish to appear in CLAT 2025 will have to meet the eligibility criteria as prescribed by the Consortium of National Law Universities. CLAT will be conducted for both UG and PG law programmes, so candidates should meet the eligibility criteria of the programme they have selected. The CLAT 2025 exam will be tentatively conducted in December 2024. CLAT Application Form 2025 will be tentatively released in July 2025. The Common Law Entrance Test will be conducted for admission to 24 participating public law universities and other colleges accepting CLAT scores.

Students applying for UG admission through CLAT 2025 must have passed 12th from a recognized board. Also, general/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI category candidates must score at least 45% aggregate marks. Candidates belonging to the SC/ST category have been given 5% relaxation and must score at least 40% aggregate marks in their class 12th. Candidates who are currently in their class 12 and appearing for the exams in March-April 2025 can also apply for CLAT 2025 Degree. Such applicants must provide proof of passing at the time of admission.
CLAT UG Eligibility: Age Limit
The Consortium of NLUs has not specified any CLAT exam age limit. Candidates of all age groups can apply and appear for the CLAT 2025.

CNLU will publish the CLAT 2025 application form online in July 2025. Students can fill CLAT 2025 application form till the first week of October 2025. The CLAT application form is available on the official website of the exam - consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Only those candidates who fill out the CLAT 2025 form within the stipulated time will be admitted to the exam.
