Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) was founded in 1969 and is a government state university. Facilities and Infrastructure

Residential Accommodation:

The boys' hostel, the three and four girls' hostels. The rooms are provided on sharing basis. Each room is properly lit and ventilated and has a connected balcony/verandah to it. The hostel has provisions of geysers in all of the bathrooms and water coolers alongside water purifiers on every floor. The hostel premise is beautified through a spacious green lawn interspersed with seasonal flower beds and trees. 

The hostel's lawns and plazas are manicured with colorful seasonal trees, shrubs, and plants to characterize the hostel's aesthetic. The hostel is well equipped with a modern Wi-Fi system. The dining corridor is equipped with desert coolers, a water cooler along with side water filters, and a fly/insect killer for health & hygiene. CCTV cameras have also been installed at the hostel entry gate. The hostel has a mess and canteen run by separate contractors who are made to ensure quality food and service to the students. 

The mess in the hostel is run by the contractor and is managed by Mess Committees of the students under the supervision of the Hostel Warden.
