The campus came into being in Hamirpur on August 7, 1986. Subsequently, It became a joint enterprise between the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh, Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, India. It became founded in Hamirpur. The instructions that commenced on the State Polytechnic College in Hamirpur as REC Hamirpur did now no longer start with having a campus. Facilities and Infrastructure

Residential Accommodations:

The campus has provided well furnished and Separate hostel facilities are to be had for boys and girls students. At present, there are 08 hostels for boys and 04 hostels for women. The hostel has provided an eating corridor facility with Music System.

The hostel is properly equipped with simple facilities like geysers in each bathroom, a water cooler on each ground, and a deep freezer withinside the eating corridor. Besides this, the net and LED facility are likewise to be had in the hostel. The hostel has a huge activity corridor that caters to the wishes of indoor games like Badminton, Table Tennis, and many more.

Library:

The library has extra than 100,000 books and severa scientific journals in each print and digital format. The studying halls of the library can accommodate around 700+ people. The building is facilitated with water coolers, warmers, Wi-Fi, etc.

Medical Facilities:

NIT Hamirpur has provided Medical facilities for students. The medical center is well equipped with basic medical facilities and in case of emergency, patients are referred to the Zonal Hospital, Hamirpur.

Sports Facilities:

NIT Hamirpur provides sports facilities for indoor and outdoor games. Teams are sent out to compete in university-level sports competitions. Sports facilities include lawn tennis, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton and athletics, Karate, cricket, football, and many more.

Admission to both of these programs is offered based on merit secured in JEE Main exam followed by JoSAA counseling.
