Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) has been installed below THE JAMMU AND KASHMIR SHRI MATA VAISHNO DEVI UNIVERSITY ACT, 1999. an Act of the J&K State Legislature (ACT No. XII of 1999 dated 12th May 1999) as an autonomous, notably Technical & completely Residential University. SMVDU has scholarships for aspirant candidates. But the candidates need to score a CGPA of 7.50 minimum with no backlogs in each semester to avail themselves of the scholarships.

Placements

SMVDU Katra has a training and placement cell that provides excellent facilities that help the graduates get placed in top companies. The cell provides help to the recruiters for pre-placement discussions, conducting tests & interviews, and other assistance from the campus team. According to the report, around 23 recruiters participated in the 2020 placement drive which is the highest number of recruiters to participate compared to the past years.

More than 150 students got selected by reputed recruiters. Infosys made the highest number of placement offers. Other recruiters include TCS, ICICI Prudential, Wipro Ltd, ICICI Bank, Ericsson Global, EZMATA Technologies, etc.
