Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham
The university was founded with the opening of Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore in 1994 by Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, and is managed by her international humanitarian organisation Mata Amritanandamayi Math. In 2003, it became one of the youngest institutes to be deemed a university, when it was conferred this status by the UGC. Nallamuthu Gounder Mahalingam College
To provide facilities for higher education for students from high schools of Pollachi and Udumalpet Taluks, an organisation called “Pollachi Kalvi Kazhagam” was constituted in 1957 under the Presidentship of Shri S.P. Loyola College
Loyola College, a Catholic Minority Institution, was founded by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) in 1925, with the primary objective of providing University Education in a Christian atmosphere for deserving students irrespective of caste and creed. The National Institute of Technology (formerly known as Regional Engineering College) Tiruchirappalli, situated in the heart of Tamil Nadu on the banks of the river Cauvery, was started as a joint and co-operative venture of the Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu during 1964 with a view to catering to the needs of man-power in technology for the Country. For four years from 1968 to 1972, the College functioned in two places, the Pre-University Classes at Teppakulam and the Degree Classes at Puthur. The College grew not only in strength but also in popularity and academic excellence and attracted students from all over Tamil Nadu. In the meantime, the College managed to secure financial aid from the Protestant Central Agency for Co-operation in Development, Bonn,Germany, for the construction of its permanent buildings.The building scheme was taken in hand early in 1970 and four new buildings were opened in 1972. Manonmaniam Sundaranar University (MSU) is a dynamic institution of higher learning, set in a rural milieu of southern Tamil Nadu, with a campus spread of 550 acres. Government of India founded the Central University of Tamil Nadu, along with eight other Central Universities, through an Act of Parliament in 2009. The College began its educational journey with 4 Under Graduate programmes, now it is emerging as the one of the top self-financing colleges in Tamil Nadu. It is a co-educational autonomous college, affiliated to the Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. Also, it is recognized under 2(f) and 12(B) of UGC act 1956 by University Grants Commission, New Delhi. The college was accredited by the NAAC with “A” Grade with the CPGA of 3.17 in the second cycle, March 17, 2016. Our college is consecutively ranked at the national level within 100 ranks by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) and ARIIA-2019 by MHRD. The College is also granted the DST-FIST and DBT Star scheme for promotion of research. In the Institution, MHRD’s Institution Innovation Council (IIC) was established to cater for the innovation and undergraduate research among students. The college, at present offers 32 UG, 16 PG and 25 Research (M.Phil. & Ph.D.) Programmes, 04 PG Diploma, 21 Diploma and 58 Certificate Programmes under 32 well established departments through six variant faculties. Alagappa Government Arts College, Karaikudi is a Co-educational institution founded on 11th August 1947, the year of independence by the great philanthropist late Dr. RM. Alagappa Chettiar. The illustrious and magnanimous founder Dr. RM. Alagappa Chettiar established the college with an aim of providing quality higher education at an affordable cost to the educationally backward people of erstwhile Ramnad District. The College initially functioned in Gandhi Maligai. In 1948 a new building for college was inaugurated by Mr. O. P. Ramasamy Chettiar.
