The Oriental University was established in 1995 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. It was it's the only Private institution in Indore. Since May 2011, the Indore University has been granted university status it was granted the status of a university under Section 2f in the UGC Act of 1956. Later. After it was granted the status of a university The Oriental University's (OU) philosophy was to be a part of a larger area by providing a range of classes.

One of India's public sector banks, Oriental Bank of Commerce is a bank with its headquarters in India and was established in 1943. On the campus of the university, the Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) has opened a branch. On Monday through Friday, the bank is open from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and on Saturday, it is open from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Both faculty and employees have access to financial services.
