Aliah University, Kolkata, previously referred to as Mohammedan College of Calcutta, is popularly referred to as Madrasah-i-Aliah or Calcutta Madrasah. Aliah University began its wonderful journey from the 2008-09 educational consultation with top-notch capacity and big opportunities. It is was hoping that this college, harmonizing culture and modernity, will become a completely unique institution of better education and research.

Aliah University is an autonomous college below the Department of Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education, Government of West Bengal. It was hoped that at the side of humans of any race, creed, caste, or class, this University will play a vital and main position withinside the development of better education for socially and educationally backward classes belonging to the Minorities.

Residential Accommodations:

The campus has an eight-story hostel built wherein a variety of college students may be accommodated. The rooms are well-appointed and are neat and easy to provide basic comforts to the college students. The college students get admission in basic terms on a merit basis

Library: 

Aliah University Library started performing at Salt Lake Campus in March 2010. It attempts to fulfill the educational and studies needs of the faculty, studies scholars, college student officials, and nonteaching staff. The college library device contains 03 campuses placed at Newtown, Park Circus, and Taltala.

The Newtown Library offers Engineering & Technology, Management, Pure Science, and Biological Science collection at the same time as the Park Circus library covers the collection on Humanities, Nursing, Law, Education, etc. The oldest library located at the Taltala campus has books on Islamic Theology. The library of Aliah University gives lending and analyzing room facilities to the individuals of this college.

Admission

Admission to all the courses is via an entrance exam conducted by the university itself. Students applying for B.Tech or M.Tech can also submit WBJEE or GATE exam scores for admission. Entrance exam scores accepted for various courses are B.Ed: Entrance Exam + Merits, MA, MCA, M.Sc, MJMC, LLM, M.Sc: AUAT,BBA + MBA: AUAT.
