Delhi Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology (DIHM&CT) was established in 1983, by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India in association with the Government of Delhi for training in trades & crafts in hotel & catering operations. The DIHM&CT, New Delhi has been a center for excellence & a living testament to the commitment to hospitality education.  It is the metamorphosis of the Food Craft Institute. In the beginning, the institute was started from a portion of the Polytechnic building at Kashmere Gate, Delhi, and has made a long journey till the shifting of the premise at Lajpat Nagar churning out trained manpower all through. In 1999, the Delhi Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology was upgraded from Food Crafts Institute to a fully-fledged Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology. Since then the institute has been training future hospitality professionals and catering to the rising demands in various fields like – hotels, aviation, hospitals, travel and tourism, restaurant and bars, fast food joints, etc. At DIHM courses encompass both practical and theoretical knowledge of every phase of Hotel, Catering, and Institutional Management starting from B Sc to short Diplomas and various skill enhancement programs.
