The Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition, Dehradun (ISO 9001:2008 and HACCP Certified)  is an Autonomous Institute setup by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India under its Grants-In-Aid Scheme. The institute is running under the registered State Government Society & managed by Governing Body, started its first Academic Session from July, 2006.

IHM, Dehradun Institute is approved by National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), and The institute is affiliated to Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).

Infrastructure and Facilities

Hostel:-

Separate hostel facility is available for boys and girls. The rooms are spacious and well furnished. Every hostel has a common room provided with TV, indoor games and phone. Water purifier systems are installed and special care is being taken with respect to health and hygiene. A visit by a Physician is undertaken for medical check up regularly.

Laundry:

Institute has got functional laundry with modern laundry equipments to train the students and to remove the psychological barriers, when they reached to industry in real life situation.

Restaurant:

The Institute has got an elegant, spacious and fully air conditioned restaurant with a seating capacity of 80 covers. The restaurant has beautiful bar counter. The unique feature of the restaurant is the attached display kitchen and a well equipped pantry.

WiFi Campus:

Our Group Colleges  are fully equipped with the  Wi-Fi facility. The connectivity with the digital world is possible with Wi-Fi network facility.

Transportation:

The college has its own fleet of buses which punctually brings students from different corners of the city to the college and hostels at nominal cost. At present it owns 8 buses, which are likely to be increased as per requirement. Regular Educational tours and excursions are being undertaken for practical  knowledge to refresh the minds of the students.

Library: 

The collage library is well stocked with 25 national and international periodicals/magazines/journals related to hospitality education/industry. Collage library also has the facility of e-library, where students can explore the world wide information of hospitality industry. VCD, CD, DVD’S and other facilities are also provided.

Sports:

The college presently have it’s own lush green playground, where regular sports & games such as volleyball, football and cricket etc are conducted time to time. We have facility for indoor games such as chess, badminton, Table Tennis and Snooker. 

Computers Lab:

The computer lab of the college consists of 50 well equipped, most advanced terminals, each connected with instant internet facility where 100 students can sit and work simultaneously.

 Smart Classroom:

The institute has got well designed classrooms developed as learning halls to create an atmosphere of professional management training equipped with audio visual aids such as VCR, TV, OHP, Slide projector and LCD projector etc. They help in effective presentation of lectures and thus help for better conceptual growth of students.

Placements

The Training & Placement Cell (T&P Cell) plays an imperative role in shaping up the career of students from orientation, internships, projects, summer training to their final placements. Our goal is to assist the students to be successful in their career development and job placement activities. The center shoulders the responsibility of organizing in-campus interviews for student training and placement.

 Admission

All the candidates appearing either for Entrance Examination or Direct admission have to submit duly filled admission form with attested photo copies of testimonials. Original testimonials are to be shown at the time of admission. The final selection is done after conducting the interview/counseling of the candidate by College Admission Committee.
