Forensic Sciences University (FSU), Gandhinagar was established in 2008 by Gujarat National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) is a central university established in the year 2008 and situated in Gandhinagar at Gujarat. It was earlier known as Gujarat Forensic Sciences University (GFSU). The University has been approved by UGC and accredited with a grade A by NAAC. Three different institutions under the university offer various courses in the discipline of forensics and sciences. The institution offers PG degrees and certification courses in the relevant field. Selection of students across different courses will be based on merit and entrance-based followed by an interview based on the opted course.

Auditorium:

The University has two auditoriums with a capacity of 550 and 250 persons respectively. Apart from this, each Institute has 80 people’s capacity seminar halls.

Sports Facilities:

The range of sports organized for students is as follows Athletics, Badminton, Cricket, and Volleyball. Indoor games like Carom and Chess are also available to students. A large number of students also participated in Quiz competitions, Elocution, Creative writing, Essay writing, Rangoli, etc.

Faculty

The faculty, as well as non-faculty members of the University, are very helpful and supportive. The professors are very much passionate about each student and assist them in achieving their dreams and also provide interesting classroom lectures with knowledgeable practical insights. As a matter of fact, all the 14 associate/assistant Professors in the institution hold doctoral degrees in their field of expertise.

Admission

The university offers various PG degree and certificate courses through online, which are provided by the Institute of Forensic Sciences and the regular courses are offered by other two institutes like Institute of Behavioural Sciences and Institute of Research and Development.

For M.Sc. program, students get admission based on marks they have secured in the competitive entrance exam conducted by the University which is similar for other different courses.

For M.Tech. GATE qualifying is needed. Likewise, for all courses, they will be different modes of selection like merit-based and entrance-based followed by an interview as applicable.

The Applications for various courses could be submitted both in online as well as in offline mode.

Scholarships

Since the institution is a government-aided university, students can get benefitted by various types of scholarships offered to them by the University every year.

There are scholarships for students belonging to weaker sections of the society with a lower annual family income. Scholarships are also offered to students who are academically excellent and secured the highest score in the entrance exam held by the university and candidates who maintain top percentage in the semester exams as well.
