Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (Reputable University) formerly known as SRMC and RI (DU), classified between the best health science universities in India originated as Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute which was founded by Sri Ramachandra Educational and Health Trust in  1985 as a self-funded non-profit private institution dedicated to serving society as a center of excellence with a focus on medical education, research, and health.
