Earlier the University of Kashmir had a residential hall in Doda, but the hostels have now been relocated to Ganderbal. In the past, students have been staying in Namroze hotel, located on Behama-Kangan road. While the rooms are average and basic, the food is decent and the facilities are clean and safe.

There are four hostels in the University of Kashmir. The first is located on the Naseembagh campus, which is surrounded by hundreds of chinars. The second is a female-only hostel.
