Gnanamani College of Education recognized by the NCTE and affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Chennai was started during 2005-2006 by Christian Educational Development Trust officed at Rasipuram, Namakkal District, Tamilnadu. The main intention of starting this college of education was to provide quality teacher education to aspiring graduates and post-graduates to serve society through teaching. Admission is open to all and priority is given to the first generation learners and graduates hailing from poor village backgrounds. Gnanamani College of Education is one of the educational institutions in the Gnanamani Group of Institutions founded and managed by the Chairman Dr.T.Arangannal M.B.A, and assisted by the Chairperson Mrs.P.Mala Leena.

Courses Offered

Gnanamani College of Education courses are offered at various levels like Undergraduate Degrees i.e Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) English, Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Hostel facilities are available separately for men and women students at reasonable rates. Hygienic food is provided to the students.

The college library is well equipped with books, reference books, textbooks, encyclopedias, dictionaries, periodicals, journals, and electronic gadgets such as CDs, DVDs, etc. Students can enrich their experiences through the Internet and digital library. A Xerox machine is installed in the library for use by students and staff.

Students are given training in the science laboratory to demonstrate experiments successfully at the high and higher secondary school levels about Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, and Mathematics syllabi. Psychology Laboratory

In the psychology laboratory tools are available for administration and interpretation of paper and pencil tests and performance tests. Student teachers are given opportunities to study various psychological traits of the students.

For developing the English language competency of the student teachers, there is a language laboratory with provisions for developing competence in reading, listening, and speaking. The focus is laid on developing the English language competency of the student teachers. Equipment and gadgets necessary to serve the above-stated purposes are available in the lab.

The computer laboratory has 60 systems with the latest software and internet facilities. On-hand training regarding the varied uses of computers is provided to the student teachers.

To train the student teachers in the art of producing instructional aids and make use of the same, a well-equipped technology laboratory with modern electronic equipment is available. Student teachers are permitted to handle equipment such as T.V., public address systems, computers, DVD players, CDs, LCD projectors, etc.

The Management plies buses and vans to different places at moderate fares to facilitate students to reach the college and leave for home on time. The maximum distance covered is 70 kilometers touching districts like Namakkal, Salem, Karur, Trichy, and Erode.

A common canteen is functioning inside the campus in which store and stationery items are available for sale. Besides students can avail of light refreshment items, breakfast, and lunch.

Scholarships

The college arranges scholarships for SC and ST students. Students can avail the provisions available for minority scholarships.

Admission

A candidate should have passed a Bachelor’s Degree Examination of a recognized university with the minimum percentage of marks indicated for different communities in brackets for the above-stated subjects as per TN. Govt and TNTEU norms: SC/ST (40%), MBC (43%), BC (45%), and OC (50%). Additional weightage is given to post-graduate students. A minimum of 50% of marks is prescribed for M.Com students.

A candidate should have passed the B.Ed Degree Examination with not less than 50% of marks in theory and practical separately.
