The Institute of Management Development and Research (IMDR) in Pune, India, is the oldest management institution in Pune and comes under the Deccan Education Society.[4] Earlier IMDR was offering three full-time programs: Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), Post Graduate Diploma in International Trade (PGDIT), and Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources (PGDHR), along with its other part-time programs. In 2011 IMDR got AICTE approval, and currently, IMDR is offering PGDM courses approved by AICTE and DTE.
IMDR a leading Management Institute in Pune was established in 1974 as a constituent unit of the Deccan Education Society. It took over the MBA program of the MBA Center of the University of Pune and the DBM program, run in the BMCC (a sister institution) since 1968. Affiliated with the University of Pune, the IMDR was also a recognized center for research leading to Ph.D. In 1977, the IMDR became an autonomous institution by voluntarily delinking from the University of Pune. Since then it has carried on its activities, independently of the University or other statutory bodies. The rationale of this step was stated in these words: “…to make our teaching programs, methods of teaching and examination more comprehensive, more flexible and more result-oriented….”

Institute Of Management Development and Research courses are offered at various levels like Postgraduate Degrees i.e PGDM in Operations Management, PGDM in Business Analytics, PGDM in Finance Management, and many more. IMDR strives to be vibrant with the learning process and committed to Management Education which contributes to more enlightened management practice. Through its enriched resources and enhanced services, the IMDR Library supports this process. It provides information services to students, faculty, and management professionals. Spanning over an area of 3570 sq. ft., it distinguishes itself from other management libraries due to the availability of a variety of reference materials from various disciplines.

The Library has a multimedia section where members can view and listen to the CDs/DVDs available in the library with the help of headphone devices.
5. Electronic Databases
The Center is primarily a learning facility and has resource rooms for conducting hands-on training and presentations. It has 100 computers with a minimum Core I3 configuration for students. The Center has state-of-the-art hardware and software to meet the needs of students of Management. Training for commonly used software packages and databases is organized]for staff and students. There is a separate Language Lab for language training for a capacity of 30 students. Students are given hands-on training on ERP systems under the SAP University Alliance Programme. A separate portal for the Alumni is maintained to address the needs of the Alumni and encourage their participation in the development of the Institute. The office, the faculty rooms, the library, and the computer center are networked. The lab has a 200 MBPS leased line connection for Internet access. Internet access is available to the students via LAN and Wi-Fi connection on campus for 10 hours a day.
The Computer Center at IMDR is responsible for all IT services on campus. It is primarily a learning facility and has a resource room for conducting hands-on training and presentations. Students are given hands-on training in Advanced Excel, Digital marketing, Business Analytics, and ERP systems under the SAP University Alliance Programme.
Sports Facilities:
On the occasion of National Sports Day, students of the Sports Committee in IMDR arranged various friendly sports events containing table tennis, Carom, throw the ball, Badminton, and relay from 4 pm. The event lasted till 5.30 pm and it witnessed a large number of participants. In all, the event was a great success.
The admission process at the Institute of Management Development and Research (IMDR), Pune, includes the application process, eligibility criteria, entrance exams, and selection process. Here are the details:

A valid CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, MAH CET, or ATMA score is required.
For FPM (Fellow Program in Management) Courses:
Candidates must possess a Master's Degree or equivalent in Engineering and Technology, Management, Economics, Social Science, Biological Science, Pure Science, Commerce, or Humanities with a first-class grade.
The Institute of Management Development and Research (IMDR), Pune accepts scores from various national and state-level entrance exams for admission to its PGDM courses. The accepted entrance exams are as follows:
• CAT (Common Admission Test)
• XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test)
• MAT (Management Aptitude Test)
• CMAT (Common Management Admission Test)
• MAHCET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test)
• ATMA (AIMS Test for Management Admissions)
• Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on their scores in the CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA, or MH-CET entrance exams.
• Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview.
• Final Selection: The final selection will be based on various factors, including previous academic records, performance in entrance exams, and personal interviews.
Note: Professional work experience is not mandatory for PGDM course admission.
The Institute of Management Development and Research has set the following cut-off scores for its PGDM course based on different entrance exams for the general category:
• MAT Cut-Off: 67
• CAT Cut-Off: 80
• CMAT Cut-Off: 60
These cut-off scores represent the minimum scores required in each entrance exam to be eligible for the PGDM course admission process at IMDR, Pune. Candidates who meet or exceed these specified cut-off scores will be considered for further stages of the admission process, which may include personal interviews and other criteria. The cut-off scores may vary for different PGDM specializations offered by the institute.
