Karimganj Polytechnic is one of the newly established premier technical institution established in the year 2017 by the Government of Assam. It is affiliated to the State Council for Technical Education (SCTE), Government of Assam and also approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) .

It is a beautiful campus surrounded by the mesmerizing hilly view and the natural beauty and is located nearly 8 K.m from the Karimganj town. The Institute offers a 3 year diploma courses in Three trades viz. Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial and Production Engineering (one and only branch in Assam) . The faculties of this Institute are highly qualified who try their level best for providing academic as well as other contribution for achieving excellence in teaching and the over all growth of this Institute.

Admission Process

To be eligible for admission into Diploma courses, a candidate must fulfill the following conditions :-

1. For admission into Diploma Courses the candidate must pass the H.S.L.C. or its equivalent examination with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subject with 40% marks (in Average) in Mathematics and Science for General candidates 35% marks (in Average) in Mathematics and Science for SC candidates 33% marks (in Average) in Mathematics and Science for ST Candidates.

2. Must appear and qualify in the Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) for admission into Diploma Courses' offered by State Council for Technical Education, Assam for the concerned academic session as notified by the DTE, Assam.

3. Age Limit : Prescribed as per notification of admission by DTE, Assam

4. Medical Standard : A candidate should be physically fit and mentally sound and should possess the minimum physical standard.

5. Residential Eligibility : Candidates must be an Indian Citizen and Permanent resident of Assam.

ADMISSION TEST :

Admission test will be held in all the Polytechnics of Assam on the subject Science and Mathematics on the date and time as notified by the DTE. There will be one question paper of Science and Mathematics of 100 marks of 2 hours duration. The question paper will be of H.S.L.C. level on the date and time as notified by DTE Assam.

Training and Placement Cell

Employability of its product (students) is the measure of performance of the Institute. Keeping this in mind the Karimganj Polytechnic has developed its Training and Placement Cell under the supervision of two faculty member. The Training and Placement Cell is equipped with all modern facilities. The Institute has set up a modern Training and Placement Cell so as to meet the demand of the day.

Karimganj Polytechnic provides placement assistance to all its students. The dedicated placement cell regularly conducts grooming sessions of the students in areas like soft skills, interview facing skills, behavioral skills hereby making them industry-fit.
