Rajasthan Engineering College, Jaipur Eligibility Criteria

Admissions at Rajasthan Engineering College adhere to the guidelines set forth by Rajasthan Technical University, Kota, and AICTE. The admission process is merit-based, with candidates selected through either the Rajasthan Pre Engineering Test (RPET) or the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). Candidates possessing a valid RPET rank card or AIEEE score are eligible for admission.

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. Attainment of at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates) in Class 10th (Xth), OR
  2. Attainment of at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates) in Class 12th (XIIth).

Additionally, candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with science, Mathematics, and English subjects from the Rajasthan Board of School Education or any recognized Board.

If a candidate has appeared for the 10+2 examination conducted by the Rajasthan Board of School Education or any other recognized Board, and their results have not been declared at the time of application submission, their eligibility will be verified at the time of Admission/Selection Committee. Admission will be granted only if the candidate fulfills all eligibility conditions.

Rajasthan Engineering College, Jaipur Rules and Regulations

Duration of the Degree Course: The Degree courses will be of 4 years duration after a pass in RPET (Rajasthan Pre Engineering test) and AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Examination) examination of the State.

Medium of Instruction: The medium of instruction in all theory and practical subjects shall be in English.

Procedures for Selection: Students who have passed the 12th class examination held by the Rajasthan State Board of Higher Secondary Education or any other recognized equivalent examination will be eligible to seek admission to Degree Courses.

Instructional Duration in an Academic Year: The hours of instructions will be 35 periods per week, consisting of 7 periods in a day for 5 days in a week.

Minimum Attendance Required for Examination Eligibility:
A candidate must secure a minimum of 80% attendance to be eligible to sit for each annual examination.
For students with medical reasons, the Principal may grant eligibility to write the examination with 65% attendance or more.
Students with less than 65% attendance will not be allowed to sit for the examination.

Scheme of Examinations and Award of Marks:
The scheme of examination includes external end examinations and internal assessment based on tests, assignments, and attendance.
The total marks for end examinations in theory and practical papers will be 100 each, with variations depending on the importance of the subject.
End examinations will normally be of three hours duration.

Award of Internal Assessment Marks:
Internal assessment for theory subjects is based on tests, assignments, and attendance.
Practical internal assessment is based on workshop/field work/laboratory exercises and drawing plates produced.

End Examination:
Each theory subject will have an end examination conducted by the State Board of Technical Education.
Question papers will consist of two parts: Part A (for 20 marks) and Part B (for 80 marks).
Practical end examinations will consist of practical exercises.

Minimum Marks for a Pass:
A candidate must secure a minimum of 40% marks in the end examination for a pass in each subject.
The total of marks for end examination and internal assessment should not be less than 40% for a pass in each subject.

Rules for Promotion:
Promotion to the next year is allowed based on attendance and fulfillment of requirements.

Classification of Successful Candidates:
Candidates will be classified into three classes: First class with distinction, First class, and Second class.
The division is based on percentage criteria: First class with distinction (75% and above), First class (60% and above but below 75%), and Second class (all other successful candidates).
Criteria for first-class or first-class with distinction includes passing the third-year examination in one attempt and passing the second-year examination within two attempts.
