Library

'Library' is the Heart of any educational institute. It plays a vital role in the education of students from all aspects. Sinhgad Business School has run an MBA library since 2007. It has two separate reading halls. The library has used State-of-the-art ERP-based GEMS Software which is fully Automated with web OPAC. The traditional library approach is now replaced with a user-oriented approach with the use of technological advancements for delivering services. It has a very rich and good collection of books more than 17699 books and periodicals, which is now moving towards the digital environment gradually.

Various Sections of the Library:
1. Acquisition Section:

It deals with Book Purchasing. At the beginning of any academic year, once the book vendors are fixed by the institution, the Library acquisition section asks for books requirement from various faculties. After finalizing the budget in the LAC meeting the said number of books are demanded, purchased, and accessioned by this section of the library

2. Classification Section:

Once the books are accessioned, need to be classified subject-wise for finding their proper location and avoiding misplacement. Our library has adopted the DDC classification scheme for classifying documents.

3. Circulation Section:

The library has a separate book issue-return counter and SBS-issued books for a limited period.

3. Reading Hall:

Our library has Two Separate reading halls for the MBA library. Timings are extended during the exam period.

4. Stack Room:

The main area of the library collection is known as Library Stack Room. We have a huge collection and library furniture in which books are arranged subject-wise.

5. Periodical Section:

SBS has subscribed to print Journals/ Magazines.SBS also has an online database that has more than 134+ online journals.

Clubs

SBS introduced about 8 clubs which are as follows:

1. Newsletter Club:

On monthly basis under the guidance of Prof. Harshali bolero, the newsletter would be published, which would contain all the events held in a month, various achievements achieved by the students, articles, etc.

2. Solicitor’s Club:

It would look after arranging for all guest sessions and guest speakers to be conducted in the allotted time slot for both the first and second-year students under the supervision of Prof. Harshali Bhalerao.

3. Placement Club:

To groom the students of SBS for the corporate world, they would be trained for interviews, GDs, verbal communication, and CV writing under the guidance of Ravi panicker sir and Prof. Pallavi Patil.

4. Cultural Club:

To mold and train the students for various cultural events like dancing, singing, street play, and fashion show to make SBS shine in various inter-college events like spectrum and Karnak under the supervision of Prof. Vrinda Pandit.

5. Events Club:

This club would emphasize various events held by SBS like Roop Ganesha che, teacher’s day, battle intellect, etc. to make the students involved in co-curriculum with the guidance of Prof. Sridevi Chennamsetti.

6. Sports Club:

Sports are equally important and enhance one personality. This club would provide the students to showcase their talent of being a good player under the guidance of Prof. Dr. kotasthane.

7. Photography Club:

To keep a record and memorize the achievements, this club would capture all the events and success stories of the entire SBS.

8. Creativity Club:

It has been brought into action to make SBS look smarter and more attractive at every event. These groups have been formed to work smoothly, and systematically and to make SBS proud by following the college norms and rules.
