Introduction of Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) Lateral Entry


Bachelor of Pharmacy (Lateral Entry) is an abbreviation for Bachelor of Pharmacy. It is a three-year undergraduate programme instead of four-year as in regular B—Pharm course. Students who enrol in the B. Pharma Lateral Entry admission programme receive immediate admission to the second year of the B. Pharma programme. Students in the general B. Pharma degree, on the other hand, are admitted in the first year of the programme.

Graduates will get a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree after finishing the programme. Graduates can work as a pharmacist both in India and overseas after earning this degree! Prescription of medicines to patients is one of a pharmacist's major responsibilities. The fact that the B.Pharm course concentrates on the study of biology, pharmaceutical chemistry, biochemistry, medications, physiology, pharmacology, dispensing, and other topics are self-evident.

 

The programme prepares students for different jobs in the pharmaceutical business by training them in the areas mentioned above. A person who has finished a Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharma) with a minimum of 50% marks is eligible to apply for B. Pharma Lateral Entry. A person who has finished 10+2 with 50 per cent marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology from any recognised board/institute, on the other hand, is not qualified for the lateral entry program.

After completing the course, students can pursue a variety of careers in the pharmaceutical field. Students have the option of working in a pharmaceutical firm or practising as a pharmacist. Students have a wide range of possibilities in both the public and private sectors. Candidates may also work for the government. Additionally, applicants can work for an Abroad Company. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy can work at government hospitals, private medical shops, and private hospitals/clinics.
