Bharathidasan Institute of Management, Tiruchirappalli, or BIM-Trichy is a Private Indian business school established in 1984. BIM is affiliated with Bharathidasan University as an autonomous institution of excellence managed by an independently run professional society. The B-School is ranked 83rd among the top 100 MBA colleges in India by MHRD NIRF Ranking 2022. BIM Trichy is also ranked 82nd in Top B-School & 33rd in South Zone by IIRF 2023.
In August 1984, erstwhile Union Finance Minister, Bharat Ratna Shri. C. Subramaniam, along with Prof. P. S. Mani Sundaram the Vice-Chancellor of Bharathidasan University chaired a meeting of leading academicians and Industrialists, and an idea was born. Their dream was to create an Academy that would be Grounded in strong theoretical inputs Have a proactive partnership with large organizations and Provide students with a real-world learning environment. With this vision in mind a partnership was signed with BHEL to create the country’s first-ever Management Institute housed inside a large industrial facility. Thus was born Bharathidasan Institute of Management – a School of Excellence. BIM offers one of the most coveted MBA programs in India, apart from Ph.D. and other Executive Development Programs.

Library:
The library is separately built in a well-architectured multi-storeyed building on the main campus and is well furnished with all resources including e-library resources.
Fitness Centre:
BIM provides facilities of fitness centers to students, staff, and outsiders as well under the guidance of qualified fitness instructors. There is also a separate fitness Centre for women. The fitness Centre focuses on physical fitness, weight reduction, and bodybuilding. The fitness center is equipped with all the necessary facilities like a treadmill bicycle ergometer rolling machine for developing aerobic fitness.
Bank:
BIM also renders the service of the Bank of India to the students. The bank offers services such as savings accounts, current accounts, and foreign exchange Services Besides this is students can also deposit their fees at the extension counter of the bank.
Canteen:
College also holds the facility of the canteen which serves hygienic and healthy food to the students, staff, parents, and visitors. In these two canteens snacks, vegetarian and sometimes non-vegetarian food items are served.
Clubs and committees:
Clubs and Committees at BIM have become an integral part of the MBA curriculum through the practice school course: Effective Execution. The expected course outcomes are (i) Develop competence in critical inquiry and problem-solving, (ii) Practically implement various management tools and techniques learned in the coursework in their career and day-to-day life, (iii) Enhance their leadership and organizational management experience, ready for the fourth industrial revolution and digital economy, (iv) Acquire skills including interpersonal skills necessary and complement for career advancement and life-long learning, and (v) Practice various tools to nurture personal and social growth, and foster culture and identity.
Hostel:
All the hostel rooms are provided with light, fans, a purified drinking water facility, a recreation center, a playing ground, newspapers, and magazines. Every hostel is provided with a television and cable connection and wi-fi facility.
Placement:
BIM follows an engagement-driven placement policy. BIM encourages corporates to participate in curriculum design intimately and also sponsor and deliver some of the courses. We extensively engage with corporates to offer courses in new technology areas such as Digital HR, Fintech, Blockchain applications, Derivative analytics, AI/ML, etc. This engagement model provides a platform for the recruiters to spot their future talents and plan their elective courses to make them productive from the first day of their work. This engagement model allows the candidates to reflect on the kind of work they would love to do.
