National Institute of Technology Calicut is a Technical Institution of country-wide significance set up through an Act of parliament(Act 29 of 2007) namely, the National Institute of era Act 2007, which obtained the assent of the President of India on the fifth of June 2007. The provision of the Act has come into pressure with impact from fifteenth August 2007 as in keeping with Notification S.O.1384 (E) of August 9, 2007, from the Ministry of Education (Shiksha Mantralaya), New Delhi.
