Training and Placement Cell Overview

NRI Institute of Technology Training, Placement, and Development Cell plays a critical role in networking graduating students with the industry. It prepares the students for the process of recruitment and simultaneously creates awareness among companies about the recruitment opportunities at NRIIT.

Potential recruiters are given structural support for scheduling interviews, hosting seminars, group discussions, and written tests. At NRI IT, Vijayawada, we believe employability is more than a skill; it is an attitude, it is a practice. So, we instill this attitude through continuous training in learning skills, behavioral skills, life skills in addition to aptitude and communication skills. This training starts in the first year of engineering itself. Specific Campus Recruitment Training programs are conducted in the third year, with an emphasis on problem-solving, critical thinking, communication skills, and teamwork.

About Our Director – Placements Dr.N.V.Surendra babu

Dr.N.V Surendra Babu, who is a doctorate from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupathi, has procured a massive experience of a decade and a half as a dynamic placement officer of Andhra Pradesh by Virtusa Corporation, Chennai. He started working right from the inception to promote the activities related to training and placements. He is known for being soft-spoken but elegant with work orientation. Dr. Surendra Babu has bagged the Wipro Excellence Award for organizing campus recruitments.

The students of all categories are tuned to meet the industry requirements, with a focus on the rural student community along with semi-urban as well as urban areas. Dr. Surendra Babu ensures that students grab opportunities from time to time and is efficient in organizing campus recruitments. He has organized over 1000 campus drives, resulting in more than 5000 students being placed to serve the industry.

Dr. Surendra Babu is a dedicated and determined person well-known for trust, commitment, and human values. His vast experience makes him a key contributor in making the training and placement officers come on track to serve the industry with utmost care and responsibility. He caters to the needs of the industry as well as academia and has held the position of Joint Secretary for the last 3 years for AP TPO Consortium of Andhra Pradesh.

VISION & MISSION OF TRAINING & PLACEMENT CELL:

Placement training plays a major role in shaping up the career goals of students. It is the dream of every engineering student to get placed in a top organization visiting their campus for recruitment. Keeping this key aspect into consideration, it is realized that training is important for engineering students to enhance their employability skills and achieve good placement in various Industries.

At present, the competition for employment is increasing every day, and placement has become a challenging task. Training of students and equipping them with life skills has become an important responsibility of the institution. Along with technical expertise, the development of a holistic personality is also necessary. To meet out these requirements, a fully-fledged training cell is operating in our college to enhance the capabilities of engineering graduates on par with the industry standards.
