The notification will include the entire NIFT 2026 timeline. Candidates will be able to make NIFT 2026 registrations online from the official website - nift.ac.in. National Testing Agency (NTA) will organise the NIFT entrance exam in February 2026 on behalf of NIFT. The NIFT exam 2026 will be conducted for undergraduate and postgraduate design courses for deserving candidates. Step 1: Check the eligibility criteria for the NIFT entrance exam on the official (www.nift.ac.in) NIFT website.
Step 2: Register Online Visit the official NIFT website and click on the "Admissions" tab. Click on "Apply Online" and fill in the required details such as name, email ID, mobile number, and password. Create a login ID and password.
Step 3: Fill Application Form Log in to your account and fill in the application form with personal and academic details. Upload scanned copies of required documents such as: a passport-sized photograph + Signature + Date of Birth certificate + Qualifying exam mark sheet (for UG programs) + Degree certificate (for PG programs)
Step 4: Pay Application Fee Pay the application fee online through credit/debit card or net banking. The application fee for the NIFT exam is ₹2,000 (₹1,000 for SC/ST/PWD candidates).
Step 5: Upload Documents. Upload the required documents as mentioned in the application form.
Step 6: Submit Application Review and submit the application form.
Step 7: Print Application Form. Print a copy of the application form for future reference.

The maximum age should be less than 24 years as on 1st August 2025. Upper age limit may be relaxed by 5 (five) years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/Persons with Disabilities (PWD) categories.
NIFT Exam Academic Qualification (B.Des & B.FTech)
Candidates fulfilling the prescribed educational qualification criteria for the Master’s program can apply for the NIFT Entrance Exam.
There is no Age limit for applying for a Master's degree in NIFT.

NTA will release the NTA NIFT Admit card written exam in the first week of February 2026. The admit card will be released online at nift.online.in. You will need to enter your application number and date of birth to download the admit card.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology will release the draft NIFT 2026 answer key in the third week of February 2026. It will be uploaded on the NIFT NTA admission portal. It will contain the official answers to all the questions asked in the exam.
Note that no answer key will be released for the computer-based GAT paper only; no key will be released for the offline-based CAT paper. Using the answer key, you can calculate the number of correct attempts and then the probable score. Challenges against the draft key will also be allowed; the candidate will have to pay Rs 200 per challenge. The final answer key of NIFT 2026 will be released after considering the candidate's response.

NTA will declare the NIFT Result 2026 written exam results most likely in the third week of February 2026. The result will be released online on the NTA NIFT admission portal. Hard copies of the results will not be sent to the candidates.
Also, the written exam marks will not be used for admission purposes. It is only used to shortlist candidates for the next admission round.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) will conduct the counselling for NIFT 2026 after the final results are declared.
Note that the role of NTA is limited to conducting the NIFT 2026 exam and announcing the results. The marks in the NIFT 2026 final results will be used to shortlist candidates for the counselling process.
NIFT 2026 counselling will have four seat allocation rounds, followed by a spot round. The vacant seats that remain after the four regular rounds of counselling will be offered in the spot round.
The counselling process for NIFT 2026 will be conducted in a centralised manner for admission to 18 participating colleges. Candidates who qualify for the NIFT 2026 entrance exam will be eligible to participate in the counselling process.
Shortlisted candidates will have to register for counselling and lock in their choices. Here, choices mean the combination of an academic programme and a college. The choices entered by the candidate must be in order of priority.
Seats will be allotted based on the choices selected by the candidates and their merit rank in NIFT 2026. To confirm their seats, candidates will have to pay the seat acceptance fee within the given deadline. Note that if the fee is not paid within the given deadline, the allotment will be cancelled and given to the next candidate in the order of merit.
