MIT Group started the Centre for piping Design and engineering as early as 1994. Along similar lines, the CAD CAM CAE Centre was launched in 1999 followed by Telecom Systems, Lighting Technology, and the rest over time. Recently in Welding and NDT also Industrial safety, Product and tool design, Industrial automation, and control are introduced.

Facilities and Infrastructure

MAEER's MIT Pune campus into a true e-campus with a total of 400 computers connected with fiber-optic backbone networks and server-client technology. The e-campus comprises of a state-of-art Internet Centre, which remains open for 24 hours and has been connected with a 4MBPS leased line through ERNET which facilitates high-speed Internet Access and uninterrupted connectivity throughout the campus.

Residential Accommodations:

Boys Hostel

The campus hostel is located on Paud Road in salubrious and lush green surroundings. All the hostel buildings are provided with 24 hrs. security guards. The boys' hostel is a five-store building having accommodation for 400 students. There are various facilities in hostels like - canteen, public phone, cold drinking water, hot water for bath, etc. For entertainment, the T.V. sets are available in recreation halls. However, viewing time is pre-defined. A Doctor visits the hostel, twice a week to conduct medical check-up.

Girls Hostel

The campus hostel is located on Paud Road in salubrious and lush green surroundings. All the hostel buildings are provided with 24 hrs. security guards. Two separate buildings are meant for Girl-students, with a capacity of 300 girl-students and the other building is located on the MIT College Campus, accommodating 175 girl-students. There are various facilities in hostels like - canteen, public phone, cold drinking water, hot water for bath, etc. For entertainment the T.V. sets are available in recreation halls. However, viewing time is pre-defined. A Doctor visits the hostel, twice a week to conduct medical check-up.

Library:

MIT has got a Central Library together with various departmental libraries. It has computerized all its housekeeping activities using Library software that is being maintained and updated regularly. It is connected to the campus-wide network. This enables users in searching and availing the library resources.

Auditorium:

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

Medical Facilities:

Fully equipped dispensaries with doctors are available at our premises. Various medical check ups and campaigns are held free of charge for all the students and faculty members during every academic year.

Sports Facilities:

We take every effort to encourage our students to participate in various social, cultural, and sports activities. The university has its personal cricket, football, and volleyball grounds and dual basketball courts with flood lighting fixtures It additionally has a 1500 sq. ft. modern-style well-equipped gymnasium. Table Tennis, Carrom, and Wrestling facilities are also provided.

Cafe/Mess Facility:

A spacious and well-equipped canteen facility is available at MIT's campus. A complete and planned meal is served in neat, clean, and hygienic surroundings. Apart from north and south Indian nutritious breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the canteen also serves appetizing Chinese food. Tea, coffee, and soft drinks along with snacks are also available. All the gadgets are fairly priced. A Monthly Mess facility is also available for the students as well as staff members.

Banks/ATMs

Financial transactions either with the institute or personally are an inevitable part of student life. To provide banking convenience to students, 'The Sangli Bank Ltd.' and a branch of the 'Bank of India' is available with an ATM center at the college premises itself with all the necessary facilities, which will further facilitate the students to carry out the important banking interactions like cash withdrawal or cheque deposit. 'Western Union Money Transfer service - a fastest way to receive money from abroad is also available in the on-campus banks.

Admission

Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT) offers courses in engineering and management. The institute offers B.Tech and M.Tech and Ph.D. programmes in engineering. The admission process for B. Tech is handled by the office of the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra State, Mumbai. Students need to apply for the entrance examination - MAHA-CET. Counseling for the MAHA-CET is conducted by the CAP. M.Tech admission is based on GATE examination. To get admission to Ph.D. programs candidates need to appear for an Entrance Test conducted by the Savitribai Phule Pune University.

Placements

Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT) conducts placement through Career Services.
