The School of Distance Education, formerly known as the ‘Institute of Correspondence Courses and Continuing Education’, University of Calicut, started functioning in the Academic year 1981-82.    Now it is one of the major Departments of the university and has also emerged as one of the major distance education providers. SDE is making all its effort to extend its support to reach the unreached and has been keen on providing facilities in distance mode for the benefit of the deprived sections of society.   It caters to the needs of thousands of students from various parts of the country.

The School of Distance Education is Affiliated with the University of Calicut and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Courses Offered: 

The School of Distance Education Courses are offered by the Undergraduate Programs Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Mathematics, Bachelor Of Commerce (B.Com.) Co-Operation, (B.Com) Computer Applications, BBA HR (Human Resource), Bachelor of Arts General (BA Gen.), and Postgraduate Programs Master of Arts (MA) Economics, Master Of Commerce (M.Com.) Finance, Master of Science (M.Sc.) Mathematics.
