The School of Planning and Architecture had a modest beginning in 1941 as a Department of Architecture of Delhi Polytechnic.

The School has an extensive collection of over 66,000 books, which are used to teach students about planning and architecture. The library also contains many reports and technical papers from various expert commissions and government departments.

The main campus is near the Indraprastha Estate in New Delhi and houses a girls' hostel. Its residential campus is situated at Maharani Bagh in New Friends Colony. Apart from academics, the School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi places a strong emphasis on sports, games, and extracurricular activities. Coda, Inmotion, Sankalp, Sepia, Spandan, Stroke, Zephyr, and other drama, music, and photography clubs are successfully operated by the School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi students every year, as are Utopia and Expressions, which are also part of the cultural events organized by the students every year. Spic Macay activities are also regularly participated in by university students.
The admissions will be provided based on merit secured by the students. Students who have qualified for Graduation in relevant subjects are eligible. Admission to the UG courses follows the entrance examination JEE main.

The admission to the (a) Bachelor of Architecture and (b) Bachelor of Planning* courses will be
on the idea of a front exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Candidates who
