Sri Chundi Ranganayakulu Engineering College popularly known as SCREC was established in the year 1999. It is the flagship institute among the various educational college started by the well-known philanthropist Sri Chundi Ranganayakulu whose primary objective is to establish and manage a variety of educational Institutions with high quality and to produce quality human resources for the service of society. The College is situated on a spacious 26 acres of land with a built-up area of 18006 Sq.m. It has five branches in its undergraduate program, i.e., E.E.E., M.E., E.C.E. C.S.E., and Civil along with the Post Graduate MBA, MCA, and MTECH courses. All departments are teamed with well-qualified and experienced teaching staff as per the norms of A.I.C.T.E. All the technical staff are well-qualified and dedicated.

The Department of Computer Science has 6 independent computer laboratories having more than 580 latest configuration computers in all, supported by all necessary compatible software, online servers, UPS, Scanners & Printers. The IT Workshop provides an ideal place for students to learn about the hardware part of computer systems. The department has more than the required space to conduct classes and practicals for the students. The department faculty members are working in the research areas of computer networks, distributed systems, databases, data mining, artificial intelligence techniques, and applications. The CSE laboratories have been set up with an estimated cost of more than Rs. 1.75 crores.

Laboratories:

The Laboratories of the Mechanical Engineering Department such as the Fuels and Lubricants Laboratory, Production Technology Laboratory, Mechanics of Solids Laboratory, Thermal Engineering Laboratory, Fuel Mechanics and Metallurgy Laboratory, and CAD-CAM Laboratory with CNC Lathe machine are established and equipped as per the norms of J.N.T.U. Similarly, the Electrical Engineering Department consists of the Electrical Machines Laboratory, Electrical Measurements Laboratory, Power Electronics Laboratory, Control Systems Laboratory, and Simulation of Electrical Systems Laboratory. It also contains Software like Multisim – 2001, an Educational version containing 5000 Electrical Components. The available software is much more useful for students in the Final year who are doing project work.
